Hickory Wood Flooring

Hickory is a strong, dense hardwood that’s grown in eastern North America. Its unique grain pattern and rich dark colour make it an attractive choice for woodworkers who want their design to stand out in a crowd. It’s stiff, sturdy and shock-resistant.

This hardwood is tight-grained and can be put under extreme pressure over time without warping or cracking, so making it one of the strongest floors on the market. It is also resistant to water and insects, and will not swell or expand like oak.

In addition, hickory wood has a high resistance to abrasions while remaining relatively easy to cut and shape. It’s these unique characteristics that make hickory wood the best choice for flooring purposes.

Scratch Resistant

Hardwoods like hickory are an excellent choice for floors. They are strong and sturdy, yet also easy on your feet. What Customers Are Saying About Us

FAQs

What kind of wood is Hickory Wood?

Hickory wood is obtained from hickory trees. The wood is also known as pecan or nut wood. It is used for making furniture, floors, tool handles etc. Hickory wood can be easily distinguished because of its colour patterns. The heartwood ranges from a light yellowish-brown to reddish-brown in colour while the sapwood varies from off white to a pale yellow.

Is it okay to put my Hickory wood outdoors?

Hickory wood does best when it is protected from moisture, insects and strong UV rays. If you decide to leave your hickory wood patio furniture outside, we recommend covering it with a patio table cover or a similar waterproof cover.

If the furniture is left exposed to precipitation, the surface of the wood may oxidize. We don’t recommend using water-based sealers with hickory, as they can darken the wood and cause it to become sticky and eventually warp.

Where is your wood sourced?

All of our wood is sourced from well-managed forests, where the tree growth exceeds the wood being harvested.

Is Hickory Wood a good choice for my flooring project?

Yes. Hickory wood is a bliss to work with. The wood can be easily installed with little or no sanding and offers excellent durability, elasticity, and natural moisture resistance that makes it easy to care for.

Hickory wood flooring is prized for its distinctive grain and colour. It can be stained to several different shades and oiled or waxed to create a high-lustre finish. It is also resistant to scratches and dents and therefore ideal for heavy traffic areas, such as hallways, behind chairs, or anywhere that need extra durability.

Do you accept credit cards for payment?

Yes, we accept all major credit cards as payment.

How long does your delivery take?

We’re glad you asked! It takes 1 to 2 days for your order to be processed. We then ship the same day from one of our distribution centres across, and your wood is delivered within 3 to 6 days depending on where you live.
